Samsung recently released the One UI 5.1 update to its premier and mid-range devices, and now the same update is being rolled out for the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The February 2023 security patch is included in this new software upgrade, offering an extra layer of security for these high-end gadgets.

The Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, and Ultra are being updated to the One UI 5.1 with firmware versions X700XXU3BWB4, X800XXU3BWB4, and X900XXU3BWB4, respectively. This update has been rolled out in a few European countries, including Switzerland; it is roughly 1.87GB, so we strongly recommend downloading over a stable Wi-Fi network connection. The cellular version of the Tab S8+ available in India is receiving an upgrade to firmware version X806BXXU2CUC6.

If you own a Galaxy Tab S8 series tablet and reside in Switzerland, One UI 5.1 is just a few taps away! Simply head over to Settings » Software update and tap the option ‘Download and install.’ This will trigger the update download and restart your device to install it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are the best Android tablets you can buy right now. We get fantastic and large Super AMOLED screens, a good LCD, and the fantastic S Pen stylus is included and has tons of software support. The tablets are super fast, have premium-feeling metal bodies, great speakers, and features like fingerprint scanners. I also like that Samsung offers up-to-date software with long software updates to come.

With One UI 5.1, you can enjoy many new features and functions on your Galaxy Tab S8. One of the new features brings the ability to swiftly alter camera settings for selfies in the stock camera app. Another new feature enhances search functionality and lets you find images featuring particular individuals by clicking on their faces. Also, swiping up pictures enables you to view EXIF information and make quick edits, while image remastering is also improved. For families who love photos together, an exclusive Shared Family Album feature is tucked away in the Gallery app.

The innovative Windows Phone Link service lets you continue browsing websites on a Windows PC where you left it off on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. Moreover, Samsung Internet enables you to search through bookmarks and history across all connected devices quickly. The Smart Suggestions widget has even added Spotify’s suggested music to its list of features. Lastly, a battery widget shows how much charge is left in your tablet and indicates what accessories are currently linked up with it.

The Settings app now offers search suggestions, allowing you to select where screenshots are saved and using up to three emoji faces in the AR Emoji Camera. Additionally, Bixby Text Call makes reaching out quickly easier than ever.

The One UI 5.1 update also lets you conveniently expand or shrink apps by simply dragging their corners. The launcher displays your frequently used applications first while in split-screen multitasking mode, and Samsung DeX makes it easier than ever to use the split-screen feature with its included window divider. Modes And Routines have also been improved, offering more convenient conditions and options. You can also get all necessary weather data at one glance on the Weather app’s updated dynamic widget that features an hourly precipitation graph for further accuracy.

With all these new features and improvements, One UI 5.1 update enhances the experience for Tab S8 users. If you are a Tab S8 user and have updated your device to the latest software version, do share your experience with us in the comments!
