Lenovo Tab Extreme

At the CES 2023 event last month, Lenovo premiered Tab Extreme – their latest flagship tablet. This sleek device boasts a massive 14.5-inch display and gives strong competition to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. While we were anticipating Lenovo to bring their premium tablet out for the markets this month, Lenovo could rebrand the device as Legion Y900 and eventually release it for international markets.

Launching globally as Lenovo Legion Y900?

The Lenovo Legion Y900 tablet was initially released in February 2022 for the Chinese market, with signs emerging that it would soon be available worldwide. Now, recent teasers from China appear to confirm the impending launch of a bigger variant of this flagship device—and here’s a secret: It’s actually just the same as the Lenovo Tab Extreme unveiled at CES 2023! We don’t yet know when exactly we can expect its global debut but stay tuned for updates.

Recently, images of the Y900 tablet surfaced online and indicated a luxurious design similar to the Tab Extreme. The tablet boasts a 14.5 inches OLED screen with an impressive resolution of 3000 x 1876 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming support, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Lenovo Legion Y900 aka Tab Extreme is fueled by a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9000 flagship chip and 12GB LPDDR5X RAM for incredible multitasking capabilities. It boasts 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage to allow you to store your content with ease. Plus, its mammoth 12300mAh battery ensures hours upon hours of continuous use without needing frequent recharging. Furthermore, it comes equipped with two USB-C ports–USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, which supports DP output, and USB-C 2.0, with support for DP input.

The Legion Y900 weighs a light 740 grams and measures 5.85 mm thick. It is outfitted with eight JBL speakers, supports Dolby Atmos for enhanced sound quality, and boasts four microphones to capture audio from all directions. For photography purposes, it has a 13MP front lens and a dual camera setup in the rear consisting of one 13 MP sensor paired with another 5MP sensor.

The device runs Android 13 OS out-of-the-box. Lenovo has pledged to deliver three major Android updates and four years of security patches, despite the uncertainty surrounding how regularly those security fixes will be released. This commitment is by far one of the best promises made for Lenovo devices compared to other brands.

Pricing and Availability

At the time of the CES 2023 launch, Lenovo shared that the Tab Extreme would launch in the US packaged with both a stylus and an Apple Magic Keyboard Folio-like cover — priced at $1,199 for the entire package. Although there is not yet an official release date for the US or global launch, we can’t wait to get our hands on this amazing new tech!
