The OnePlus Pad is finally here. It’s been two years since we first learned about the possibility of a new tablet from OnePlus. An Android tablet with the ‘OnePlus Pad’ trademark was teased before so the official launch has been something highly anticipated. This now means OnePlus has another entry to add to its portfolio of Android devices that may or may not sell.

The brand that “never settles” has definitely not settled when it comes to the tablet’s chassis. It boasts a CNC aluminum unibody alloy frame with “Star Orbit” engraving, giving it a premium look and feel. It can stand out from the rest of other Android tablets available in the market today with its elegant design.

OnePlus Pad Specs

The OnePlus Pad’s 11.6-inch LCD screen offers a 2800 x 2000 resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and support for 2048 levels of brightness control. For protection, there is a 2.5D curved glass covering the main display. The bezels are very small at only 5.44mm. While most tablet manufacturers target 120Hz screens, the OnePlus Pad already arrives with a 144Hz refresh rate for more cinematic and ultra-fluid gameplay. The 7:5 aspect ratio and 88% screen-to-body ratio make the “ReadFit” display which is ideal for reading with the book-like experience it brings.

What makes this look a bit different is the large camera positioned at the center and back of the body. It’s something you can’t miss as it is placed above the OnePlus logo. The main camera is 13MP with LED flash and is capable of 4K and 1080p recording at 30fps. The selfie camera is 8MP.

The device is only painted in Halo Green which makes it very distinct from the usual black, silver, or gray tablets. You won’t find any 3.5mm jack, only USB Type-C 2.0. The four stereo speakers may not be great if you’re looking for super hi-def sound but they’re good enough, and nonetheless, offer immersive entertainment as made possible by the Omnibearing Sound Field technology.

The OnePlus Pad runs on a large 9510mAh battery that comes with 67W fast charging support. It is powered by a Dimensity 9000 processor from MediaTek together with up to 12GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. To put things into perspective, the chipset can allow 24 apps to run in the background without any lag. The tablet’s fast performance can be proven by the charging time (full in 80 minutes) and some 14.5 hours of video playback. The standby time can reach up to 30 days.

OnePlus’ Android tablet is topped by OxygenOS 13.1. The new tablet model weighs 552 grams (1.22 lbs.) and measures 258 x 189.4 x 6.5 mm. Like most tablets available, this works with other accessories like a folio case, a stylus (OnePlus Stylo Pen), and a Bluetooth keyboard (OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard). It’s also easy to connect to the latest OnePlus phones, thanks to the autoconnet feature called Fast and Smooth. It also features 5G connectivity which can be shared with other OnePlus devices via Cellular Data Sharing.

OnePlus Pad Pricing & Availability

There is no mention of pricing and exact availability but the OnePlus Pad will be up for pre-order in April. The ultraportable tablet will be released in India and most of Europe and North America.
