Here are Samsung Galaxy Tablets Eligible for One UI 5.1.1 Update
Check if your Galaxy tablet will get the One UI 5.1.1 update.
Samsung has announced that One UI 5.1.1 update will be released for Galaxy devices before the arrival of Android 14 and One UI 6.0 in 2024, as the biggest software update of the year. The update will be first available on the new foldable Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones of this year, and later will be rolled out to older Galaxy devices.
These incremental updates are designed for Samsung’s tablets and foldable devices. They have features that are specifically tailored to these devices but also have general enhancements that can benefit users who own a non-foldable Galaxy phone.
Galaxy tablets likely to get One UI 5.1.1 update
Will all Galaxy devices receive One UI 5.1.1? No, only Samsung’s foldable devices and tablets will receive it. For non-folding Galaxy phones, there may be some new features and improvements included in One UI 5.1.1, but it is not guaranteed to be available.
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S8
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S7
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE
Please bear in mind that the first list of devices that are likely to receive the update is not a comprehensive or final list. There is a possibility that the list may change in the future as we get additional information. The second list is even more uncertain because the x.1.1 One UI updates are meant for foldable and tablets, as previously stated.
Galaxy Tab S8 joins One UI 5.1.1 beta program
SamMobile has reported that users of Galaxy Tab S8 can now expect the upcoming One UI update. The One UI 5.1.1 beta program has been launched for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in South Korea and the Galaxy Tab S8 series is also participating in a similar beta testing program.
South Korean Samsung fans who own Galaxy Tab S8 tablets can submit their applications to join the beta program through the Members app. It is unknown how the One UI 5.1.1 beta update will impact the development of One UI 6.0 for the Tab S8 series, but it seems that the One UI 5.1.1 beta is packed with features and enhancements.
Samsung started the One UI 5.1.1 beta program on July 3, 2024, which may apply to your Galaxy foldable or tablet. In case your device isn’t eligible for One UI 5.1.1, the next significant update will be One UI 6.0, subject to eligibility for Android 14.
Currently, the One UI 5.1.1 beta update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series is only available in South Korea. It is not yet known if the beta program will be available for users in other markets. We will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.
One UI 5.1.1 brings better multitasking and more
Not all of the upgrades in One UI 5.1.1 are available for the tablet series. Some examples include the Flex Mode features and updates to Samsung Health, as the Health app is not officially compatible with Samsung tablets. It’s worth noting that the improvements to Wireless Power Share are specifically for the foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The Galaxy Tab S8 series will receive an update to One UI 5.1.1 which will enhance multitasking. The update includes a pop-up view and split-screen commands for better functionality. S Pen users will also be able to preview apps by hovering the input device over minimized apps in the taskbar.
My Files app has upgraded drag-and-drop features and more comprehensive storage details. The Gallery app has also made small enhancements to the watermark feature. Additionally, One UI 5.1.1 users can now share files through Quick Share with contacts, even if they are not in close proximity.
