Alldocube X Neo: The Basics

At a glance, the X Neo looks like any other tablet out there, and it’s indeed meant to be your daily-use screen that just works without any extra bells and whistles. Its design isn’t something that will blow your mind; it has average-sized bezels on the front and uses a metal casing for the back. Alldocube has included a relatively large 10.5-inch screen on the machine, which comes with a decent 2560 x 1600 resolution for great details. If you want to watch movies on this tablet, then you’d be pleased to know that you’re getting a pair of speakers with stereo separation.

What powers the Alldocube slate is a rather old Snapdragon 660 chip, though it should be plenty powerful for basic things even for a year or two down the line. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Aside from these, the tablet comes preinstalled with Android Pie. As previously said, Alldocube hasn’t positioned this slate to compete with the highest-end ones in the market or break any records. These modest internals will keep up with your needs until you know its limits. For shooting images, the tab has got an 8MP camera on the back, accompanied by an LED flash, along with a 5MP front shooter.

A 7700mAh battery keeps things running and supports fast charging using an 18W adapter. It uses a USB Type-C port for charging and also has a headphone jack. On the connectivity front, you’re getting the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth array. Staying connected when on the move is also possible using the 4G LTE connectivity option that lets you pop in not one but two SIM cards to connect to the internet. Not only that, but the X Neo also supports VoLTE, meaning you can even make calls, though you’ll need headphones for that else you’re tablet will default to its speakers.

Pricing & Availability

Coming out of China, you’ve got plenty of options to import such products from the Asian market to almost any part of the world, including the US. The Alldocube X Neo is available for purchase on GeekBuying for $340 with free shipping, or you can choose to pay extra for faster shipping speed. The tablet, however, is currently out of stock, so you might have to wait for a bit anyway.

The X Neo also has a keyboard attachment that serves as its foldable cover, but it’s likely sold separately. It’s not clear exactly how much the cover costs.

Alldocube X Neo Alternatives

There are a whole lot of excellent tablets available in this price bracket. For almost the same price, you can pick the latest Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, which comes bundled with the S Pen and is a generally superior device. Lenovo’s Tab M10 FHD Plus 2nd-gen (review) turned out to be a decent performer with its clean software experience and large display. Another tablet you should consider going for is the Apple iPad 7 (review), which is just fantastic for any kind of use, and you won’t be disappointed.

If you’re looking to save a few dollars, then go ahead and get the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 T510 (review), which continues to be a great value device, even though it’s now a year old. Alternatively, the Amazon Fire HD 10 (review) is a near-perfect tablet for media consumption and for handing it to your kids. Plus, it costs less than half of this Alldocube model. On the Windows side, we have the Surface Go (review), which should soon be available at a discount when its follow-up comes out.

Alldocube X Neo

Though using an older processor, the Alldocube X Neo is a capable machine if you're looking to do basic things. There isn't any flashy thing about the tablet, except for its massive 2K display, which is its best feature and comes paired with a pair of stereo speakers. Plus, the company has also given the option to pop in a 4G SIM to have uninterrupted connectivity while also being able to make phone calls.
