Huawei MediaPad T3 8: Here is what you should know

The Huawei MediaPad T3 8 is an 8-inch entry level Android tablet. As you might expect from an inexpensive device, the internal specifications are not the best. It comes with an HD resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC and 2GB to 3GB of RAM. While there is no microSD card slot, you can get it with LTE, phone and text messaging support.

Huawei MediaPad T3 8 Highlights
- Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC
- Optional LTE 4G with phone support
- Very inexpensive
The Basics
The Huawei MediaPad T3 8 is very similar to its bigger brother, the MediaPad T3 10. Its body is mostly made out of plastic but the built quality is still alright. While there is no microSD card slot, we are getting optional 4G LTE and that version has a SIM card slot. Other features include two cameras with a resolution of 5 and 2 megapixel.
The 8-inch display has an aspect ratio of 16:10. With bigger tablets, an HD resolution is too low nowadays. But since the MediaPad T3 8 is relatively small, the pixel density is still alright.
Inside the tablet runs the lower end Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Soc. While this quad-core chip is not optimal for high-end gaming, it’s fine for most things. You should be able to browse the web and watch YouTube and Netflix without any issues. In addition to the chip, Huawei is giving us 2GB to 3GB of RAM and 16GB to 32GB of internal storage.
Not many cheap tablets are shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat right now, but the MediaPad T3 8 is one of them. As usual, on top of Android runs the EMUI 5.1. That’s the own interface from Huawei which customizes the operating system quite heavily. There are tons of apps preinstalled but you can customize it yourself quite a bit.
