Lenovo Miix 630 Specs, Price & Everything You Need To Know
The Lenovo Miix 630 is one of the first Windows 10 tablets running on an ARM processor. It’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 quad-core processor. Because of that, Lenovo and Qualcomm are promising us a battery life of up to 20 hours. Another major highlight is integrated LTE. Besides that, the Lenovo Miix 630 looks like most 2-in-1 of this kind and it comes with a keyboard dock and an active pen. Here is everything you should know about the Lenovo Miix 630.
Highlights
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 ARM processor
- Up to 20-hour battery life
- Integrated LTE 4G
- 12.3-inch full HD screen
- Keyboard cover & pen
- Windows 10 S
Lenovo Miix 630: The Basics
The Lenovo Miix 630 looks like a premium Windows tablet with its slim full metal body. Including the keyboard, it’s 1.5cm thick only. Unlike Surface-style tablets it does not feature an integrated kickstand. Instead, it’s held up by the included keyboard cover. Sadly, Lenovo is not very generous with ports. We get a 3.5-millimeter audio jack and one single USB Type C port only.
Like most of its competitors, the Miix 630 offers a 12.3-inch IPS screen with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1280. So it has an aspect ratio of 3:2. If you want you can use a pen to draw or take notes on the display. The active stylus supports 1024 pressure points which is much less than other modern pens including the Surface Pen and even the Lenovo Active Pen 2 from the MIIX 520.
As I said, the Lenovo Miix 630 is one of the first Windows tablets to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. This is an ARM chipset that we’ve seen in a lot of smartphones in 2017. Because of the Snapdragon 835, the battery is said to last up to 20 hours and should offer an excellent standby time.
In addition to the ARM processor, we’re getting 4GB to 8GB of RAM and an up to 256GB SSD. LTE 4G is included out of the box. You can use it with the build in eSIM or with a nano SIM.
Windows on ARM
Lenovo is shipping the Miix 630 with Windows 10 S which is a variant of Windows 10 Pro. With Windows 10 S, you can install apps from the Microsoft Store only. That means you’re not able to install apps you download online which might include Google Chrome, Adobe Photoshop, and special drivers. According to Microsoft, Windows 10 S is much securer and offers a better battery life. Generally, apps from the Microsoft Store run on ARM chips just fine since they’re made for that.
Once you buy the Miix 630 you will be able to upgrade to standard Windows 10 Pro for free. After you’ve done that you can install all apps you’re used to from all Windows 10 devices. These classic desktop apps run in an ARM emulator though and might not perform as good as on Intel or AMD processors.

Availability & Price
The Lenovo Miix 630 will be released almost worldwide in the second quarter of 2018. In the US, prices start at 799 US Dollars. The price should be similar in most Asian countries as well. I expect to pay a bit more in Europe though, probably around 1000 Dollars or around 900 Euros.
