Highlights
- 7-inch screen with 1024 x 600 pixels
- MediaTek quad-core processor
- 1GB RAM and up to 16GB storage
- Android 8.0 Oreo Go Edition
- MicroSD card slot
- Optional 3G and GPS
Lenovo Tab E7: The Basics
Because the Lenovo Tab E7 is so inexpensive, it has a full plastic body. As you might expect, it is quite thick with over 10mm and weighs 272g. While the body is mostly black, there is a microSD card slot with a blue cover. The 3G version has a card slot for a nano-SIM as well. Its cameras offer a resolution of 0.3 and 2 megapixels.
The Lenovo Tab E7 has a 7-inch screen which is relatively dark at 250 nits and the resolution is low with 1024 x 600 pixels. It is a touchscreen, obviously, but you can not use it with an active pen.
Inside the WiFi version of this tablet runs a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8167 quad-core processor. If you decide to get the 3G version, you’ll get a very similar 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8321 SoC. All versions are shipped with 1GB of RAM. The internal storage varies between 8GB and 16GB.
Among its other features are WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and the 3G version has GPS too. The battery offers a capacity of 2750mAh and is said to last up to 5 hours.
Lenovo is shipping the Tab E7 with Android 8.0 Oreo Go out of the box. The Go edition and its apps should be better suited for lower-end devices like this tablet.

Price & Availability
Even though Lenovo announced the Lenovo Tab E7 at the end of summer 2018, it took them almost half a year to start shipping. As of writing this, it is available in Europe and some Asian countries. Other parts of the world should follow soon. Prices start at around 60 US Dollars.
Lenovo Tab E7 Alternatives
If you are looking for a similar tablet from another manufacturer, you could check out the Amazon Fire 7. Both are very similar with similar hardware and features. However, while the Tab E7 is shipped with Googles version of Android, the one from Amazon is heavily customized. I’d suggest you think about it if you are a Prime member only.
Another interesting but more expensive alternative is the Chuwi Hi9 Pro. Usually, you have to import it from China. However, it offers a much better screen, a better performance, and a higher-end build quality.
By the way, I can not recommend the Lenovo Tab7 Essential which is its predecessor.
- Good enough performance
- Pure Android 8.1 Oreo Go
- Very inexpensive
- No IPS screen
- Short battery life
- Bad cameras
