Lenovo Tab M7: The Basics
Weighing just 23 grams, the Lenovo Tab M7 is surely a lightweight device that packs a metal outer shell for a premium touch. Over at the front, you will find a 7-inch display placed with relatively narrow borders. It scores an 82% screen-to-body ratio which gives you ample gripping areas. Lenovo will sell this budget tablet in three color options—Iron Grey, Platinum Grey, and Onyx Black—which aren’t that far apart from each other.
The compact slate also supports 4G LTE in one of its variants that comes powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8765B processor. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi model gets a MediaTek MT8321 chipset that also houses four cores. You will be able to pick one of these with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB/32GB of expandable flash storage.
Its basic model with 1GB RAM gets the Android 9 Pie Go Edition while the other variant comes with the standard version of Android Pie. Lenovo has further added to the software with its Kid’s Mode 3.0 that includes a ton of content for your kids along with some robust parental controls. Multi-user profiles help each of your family members have a separate space in the device which can be easily unlocked with face recognition.
Both the front and back feature the same 2MP fixed-focus camera unit while Lenovo also retained the 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a single speaker placed on the front that can be used as an earpiece as well. Inside the Lenovo Tab M7, you will find a 3590mAh battery that is rated to last for up to 10 hours.

Pricing & Availability
A week before the commencement of IFA 2019 event in Berlin, Lenovo announced a pair of tablets—the Tab M7 and the Tab M8. The tablet concerned here is expected to ship starting next month in select markets of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It has been announced to cost €99 or 109 USD. Lenovo didn’t announce a tentative timeframe for the Tab M7’s availability in other markets in America and Asia just yet.
Lenovo Tab M7 Alternatives
There aren’t many tablets currently retailing in the market with a 7-inch display. The device that comes the closest is the Amazon Fire 7 2019 (review) that costs $49.99 and is among the cheapest tablets out there. Lenovo’s own Tab E7 (review) could be a fine alternative if you don’t expect much from the device. It costs $60 and is directly positioned against the Amazon offering.
Besides this, Lenovo also recently announced the Lenovo Tab V7 for a price of $189 but its availability is limited to certain Asian markets. If you move to the 8-inch display category, you can go for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019, which is a budget tablet announced quite recently by the company. We found the Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite 8 (review) to be a great product in its price segment.
