Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ for Business: Everything You Need To Know
Microsoft’s Surface line is long overdue for a full upgrade, but the company has seemingly given one of its top-selling models a mid-cycle refresh, attaching the new Plus moniker. We’re talking about the newly released Surface Pro 7+ for Business, which, as its name suggests, is meant only for businesses and education customers.
As you’d expect, this new 2-in-1 model gets a new set of internals, adopting Intel’s latest processor line, while not much has changed on the outside. Here is everything that you need to know about the Surface Pro 7+ for Business, including its specs, price, availability details, and some existing alternatives.

Surface Pro 7+ for Business: The Basics
While the new Surface Pro 7+ brings a lot of changes on the inside, there’s little new in design to differentiate it from its predecessor. You get pretty much the same exterior, including that iconic kickstand and a large 12.3-inch 3:2 touchscreen on the front. You can continue using the existing Type Cover and Surface Pen because of the old design, which is definitely a plus point. Microsoft has included a pair of far-field Studio Mics, which help capture your audio in better quality while making video calls.
Intel’s new 11th gen processors now power the Surface Pro 7+ for Business, which you can configure up to the i7 chip along with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD. Speaking of which, the included SSD is user-accessible and removable using a little hatch under the kickstand. The battery size has grown this time around, giving you a usage time of up to 15 hours on a single charge. Plus, you can pick the LTE-enabled model to access the internet even when you’re away from your home or office.

Designed for business users, the tablet comes preloaded with Windows 10 Pro with a ton of enhancements, such as the included TPM 2.0 chip for enterprise security. For shipping the tablet to your employees, Microsoft has used lighter and sustainable packaging. As for the connection situation, you get the same array of USB-C and USB-A ports, microSD slot, headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port.

Pricing & Availability
The new Surface Pro 7+ for Business doesn’t come cheap as you’ll have to shell out $900 for the base model with the Intel i3 processor. Meanwhile, the cheapest model with support for LTE is going to set you back $1150. Since this tablet is meant only for business and education customers, you’ll be able to pick one only from authorized offline retailers in select markets across North America, Europe, and Asia. It can be pre-ordered right away and will start shipping in a few days.
Surface Pro 7+ Alternatives
The Surface Pro 7+ is kind of a unique proposition right now, thanks to the combination of the latest Intel chips and its convertible design. But if you are a regular (non-business) user, you will have to get the slightly older non-Plus Surface Pro 7 (review) with previous-gen processors. If you prefer something smaller with a similar build and finish, there probably isn’t a better option than the Surface Go 2 (review), which scored well in our review.
With a more ‘mobile’ operating system, Apple’s iPad Pro (review) range turns out to be a great option. But if you don’t want to splurge that much, the new iPad Air (review) gets you pretty much everything from the Pro but without the extra premium price. Samsung too came out with its own alternative this year in the form of the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ (review), both of which come bundled with the S Pen, while you only need to buy the keyboard attachment separately.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7+
With the Surface Pro 7+, Microsoft has improved upon already an excellent machine without making any changes to its aesthetics. The 2-in-1 productivity tablet is now powered by the latest 11th Gen processors from Intel and comes with a minimum RAM capacity of 8GB. Plus, you get the option to get an LTE-enabled model for even more connectivity options when outdoors. The kickstand is still present, and the company has also retained the support for existing accessories, including the Type Cover and Surface Pen.-
