MWC 2023: TCL Unveils NXTPAPER 11 Tablet With Color Paper-like Display
Marking its debut at the MWC 2023, TCL has unveiled the NXTPAPER 11 tablet with advanced NXTPAPER 2.0 display technology.
As anticipated, this year’s Mobile World Congress has set the stage for new tablet launches. Making the first entry at MWC 2023 is TCL. The company launched a fleet of budget devices at the event. Among these is the tablet NXTPAPER 11, which boasts an updated version of the color paper-like display technology.
In terms of pricing, the tablet starts at $249 and is expected to go official in Europe in May 2023.
Paper-like display technology on NXTPAPER 11
The TCL NXTPAPER 11 is a smaller version of the 12-inch tablet that was unveiled at last year’s CES and cost almost half the price. The new NXTPAPER 11 is a 10.95-inch tablet that boasts an IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200px (15:9), providing sharp visuals with a unique coating for a pleasant feeling akin to that of paper. An optional pressure-sensitive stylus is also available, capable of detecting up to 4,096 pressure levels.
The new version of the NXTPAPER 11 display has been upgraded with the advanced NXTPAPER 2.0 technology with 500 nits of peak brightness; this is a noticeable improvement compared to its predecessor. The anti-glare design allows users to enjoy an optimal viewing experience even in bright rooms and outdoors.
On top of that, the innovative light sensor automatically adjusts and adapts the display’s color temperature according to its environment for optimal visibility in any setting. By utilizing hardware-level filtering, TCL claims that the technology exceeds even TÜV-certified levels of blue light reduction and is beneficial for protecting eye health. Not only does the feature maintain color accuracy, but it also helps to prevent screen yellowing from occurring.
Helio P60T SoC, 4GB of RAM
Outfitted with the Helio P60T chipset, the tablet offers advanced multitasking features such as split-screen or floating window modes. On the software front, this tablet runs on Android 13 out-of-the-box. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.0. It also includes a quad-speaker setup along with two mics.
Under the hood, the device has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. In terms of imaging, the tablet comes equipped with an 8MP front camera featuring a wide 100° lens perfect for video calls, plus an 8MP rear camera.
The NXTPAPER 11 is a thin, lightweight tablet backed by an 8,000mAh battery paired with an 18W USB-C charger. The device is 6.9mm thick and weighs 462 grams.
