Xiaomi Pad 6 test

It’s not been a long time since we were following up on the Xiaomi Pad 6 and two more variants that were launched under the series. And now we have another Xiaomi tablet on the horizon that’s expected to launch soon as we have some details about this mystery tablet already, dubbed Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro.

Now, here’s the scoop: a well-known leaker, Digital Chat Station, spilled the beans on Weibo about a mystery tablet. The speculation is that it could be the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. But since the leaker didn’t actually name-drop the tablet, there’s a chance Digital Chat Station might be teasing a completely different tablet altogether. Which is why we are going to take everything that’s been circulating on the internet about the alleged Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro with a pinch of salt.

Just to jog your memory, the Xiaomi Pad 6 series including the standard and Pro variant has been around for over six months and now leakers are dropping info on the next models. Xiaomi took until July 2023 to release the Pad 6 worldwide, and it’s currently available at $364 on Amazon. The tablet had a follow-up in the form of Xiaomi Pad 6 Max a month later in China, but neither it nor the Pad 6 Pro have been officially launched outside China yet.

The rumored features of the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro include an LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. If the speculations hold true, the Pad 7 Pro might come equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Notably, Qualcomm recently introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, replacing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that debuted about a year ago and currently powers the Pad 6 Pro. The Pad 7 Pro is expected to have a square-shaped camera housing. Xiaomi is anticipated to launch the Pad 7 series in early 2024.

Let’s not forget its predecessor, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, which hit the Chinese market in April alongside the regular Pad 6. It launched at a starting price of CNY 2,399 (around $330) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant.

Running on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, the Pad 6 Pro boasts an 11-inch 2.8K LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It comes with a dual rear camera setup – a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 20-megapixel front camera onboard.

Storage-wise, there’s up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage on the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, and it is powered by an 8,600mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. The tablet is also equipped with four microphones, four stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and holds Hi-Res audio certification.

We think there will be a lot more rumors gracing our screens in the coming days, so stay tuned with us to get all the updates about the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. Want to know all about the Xiaomi Pad 5? Check out our review below:
