Lenovo Tab M9: The Basics
The Lenovo Tab M9 has a light metal body that comes in two colors, Arctic Grey and Frost Blue. There is an SD card slot that also accepts nano-SIMs if you have the LTE version, and the USB-C 2.0 port is for charging. For wired earphones, there’s a 3.5mm combo jack.
Lenovo equipped the Tab M9 with a MediaTek Helio G80 (eight-core, 2x A75 @2.0GHz + 6x A55 @1.8GHz) processor, while the tablet comes in two configurations: 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage or 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. You can insert a microSD card up to 1TB if that’s not enough room.
As a budget tablet whose competitors are mainly 8-inch tablets, it’s great for streaming videos on YouTube and Netflix, though you won’t be able to watch content in FHD due to the 1340 x 800-pixel display.
At 344g, the Lenovo Tab M9 is a light device you can easily carry around. Even with lighter weight, the metal body is solid enough for constant use.
Pricing & Availability
The Lenovo Tab M9’s price starts at $139.99 for the 3GB model and costs $149.99 if you want 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. In the UK, the cheapest model sells for £130.00, while the most expensive model is £194.00, which comes with a folio. There is an LTE model that retails for £145.00.
According to the Lenovo official website, the UK version of the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant comes with a case and film for £164.00. If you live in the UK, you should have more options to pick from.
Lenovo Tab M9 Alternatives
The realme Pad mini is an 8-inch Android tablet that works well as an alternative to the Lenovo Tab M9. This tablet is older, but some of the specs are similar. However, it runs on Android 11 and isn’t upgradeable, which is a disadvantage if you’re concerned about Android versions.
If you don’t mind paying more, Apple’s iPad Mini 6 is another powerful alternative. It’s a strong machine that plays games and loads media brilliantly while outshining many 8-inch tablets. The display has an obvious jelly effect, but this isn’t the worst problem in a tablet.
