Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Launched with IP68 Ratings, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC 

At the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event today, Samsung unveiled the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series, consisting of the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. These remarkable tablets succeed the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup, which was launched in February last year. 

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, they boast an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The Galaxy Tab S9 features an impressive 11-inch display, while the Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra offer even larger displays of 12.4 inches and 14.6 inches respectively. Additionally, all models come bundled with an S Pen, enhancing the overall user experience. It’s no surprise that many of the recent leaks about the upcoming tablets turned out to be quite accurate. Now, without further ado, let’s check out the pricing and specification of the Tab S9 series.

Galaxy Tab S9 Series Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 starts at a price of $799, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ carries a starting price of $999. As for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, it comes with an initial price tag of $1,999.

The Beige and Graphite shades are available for all three models. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 comes in two storage variants: the base 8GB + 128GB option, and the higher-end 12GB + 256GB option. As for the Galaxy Tab S9+, you have the choice between the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB options. Lastly, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra offers three storage configurations: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB.

The highly anticipated Galaxy Tab S9 series is now open for pre-order in select markets, starting today. Mark your calendars, as the tablets will be widely available from August 11.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, S9 Ultra Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 runs Android 13 OS and boasts an 11-inch dynamic AMOLED 2X display that supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Underneath, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC designed specifically for the Galaxy. This customized variant of the SoC is coupled with a maximum of 12GB RAM.

When it comes to capturing photos and videos, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is equipped with a primary 13-megapixel sensor that has autofocus capabilities. The camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash. Additionally, for taking selfies and engaging in video chats, it sports a front-facing 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 comes with onboard storage of up to 256GB, which can be expanded using a microSD card up to 1TB. It offers various connectivity options including 5G and 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, the tablet features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy Tab S9 is equipped with an 8,400mAh battery. The tablet has dimensions of 165.8 x 254.3 x 5.9mm and weighs 498 grams for the Wi-Fi only variant, or 500 grams for the 5G option. All models in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series have quad stereo speakers supported by AKG and Dolby Atmos. 

The tablets also feature Knox security. Additionally, the DeX Mode has been enhanced, allowing users to resize windows and access Second Screen capabilities for mirroring or extending the PC screen to the tablet. All tablets in the series come with the S Pen and have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Tab S9+ specifications

The Galaxy Tab S9+ from Samsung shares the same software specifications as the Galaxy Tab S9. However, it boasts a larger 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for Galaxy and can have up to 12GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Tab S9+ is equipped with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with autofocus and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. For selfies and video chats, it features a dual front camera unit that includes 12-megapixel wide and ultra-wide shooters.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ offers ample onboard storage of up to 512GB, expandable via a microSD card up to 1TB. It provides various connectivity options including 5G and optional 4G LTE, as well as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, it features an under-display fingerprint sensor.

With a 10,090mAh battery, the Galaxy Tab S9+ ensures long-lasting power. The tablet has dimensions of 185x285x5.7mm and weighs 581 grams for the Wi-Fi variant, while the 5G model weighs 586 grams.

Tab S9 Ultra specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, the latest tablet offering, operates on Android 13. It boasts a larger 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Similar to the other two models, it utilizes the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and offers up to 16GB of RAM.

At the back, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra showcases a dual camera setup, consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with autofocus and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. On the front, there is also a dual camera setup with two 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooters. The camera module is cleverly positioned within a hole-punch cutout on the display.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra from Samsung offers a generous internal storage capacity of up to 1TB. It provides various connectivity options such as 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type-C port. The device also features an under-display fingerprint sensor and is built with IP68-rated durability. With quad stereo speakers tuned by AKG and support for Dolby Atmos, it ensures an immersive audio experience. The tablet is equipped with a powerful 11,200mAh battery and has dimensions of 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5mm, weighing 732 grams for the Wi-Fi version and 737 grams for the 5G version.
