Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Gen 3: The Basics

Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen multitasking

Lenovo’s Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 is an entry-level device, and a step up from its non-Plus cousin (the Tab M10 Gen 3). Still, it has a 2000 x 1200 10.6-inch IPS display, with one of two CPUs depending on whether you opt for the WiFi-only or WiFi and LTE version. The WiFi-only M10 Plus Gen 3 has a MediaTek Helio G80, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G powers the LTE version. Lenovo offers several storage and RAM options for each, starting at 3GB/32GB and going up to 6GB/128GB at the high end. If 128GB isn’t enough, you can slot in a microSD card via the MicroSDXC slot.

These are all solid upgrades over the cheaper Lenovo Tab M10 Gen 3, but one of the biggest upgrades is the battery. The M10 Plus Gen 3 has a 7700 mAh Li-Po battery that manages 10.5 hours in our standardized battery life tests. This is nearly double the Tab M10 Gen 3’s result in the same test. Like its cheaper sibling, the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 includes a headphone jack.

Other improvements include support for an active stylus in the form of the Lenovo Precision Pen 2. It’s not the Apple Pencil 2 or Samsung S Pen, but it’s a nice feature on a budget-friendly tablet.

The Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 shipped with Android 12, but the company rolled out an Android 13 update in 2023. Lenovo plans to release security updates until 2025, with the cutoff date being either the end of March or the end of June, depending on the variant.

Pricing and Availability

The Lenovo M10 Plus Gen 3 is widely available from online retailers such as Amazon and directly from Lenovo.  The M10 Plus Gen 3 starts at $189 in the US for the 3GB/32GB model. Model availability is a bit more limited in Europe, with both Lenovo Germany and Lenovo UK only having the 4GB/128GB version in stock as of March 2024. That model will set you back €250 or £260, respectively.

Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 Alternatives

If you’re after a similarly-sized 10-inch tablet, Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Lite 2022 has a similar form factor but better performance overall and comes with an S Pen in the box. It has a much higher MSRP, but you can find deals that bring it close to (or even under) the $200 mark. Honor’s Pad X9 is also a strong alternative that is only stymied by a lack of availability in some regions. The Amazon Fire Max 11 is also a decent option if you’re OK with installing the Google Play Store yourself.

Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen gaming
The Lenovo Tab M10 and M10 Plus 3rd generation offer a solid built quality, good displays and almost pure Android. However, because of their kind of weak processor, they are not too exciting. The battery life of the M10 is disappointing. But they can get very interesting once prices drop.
Positive
  • Solid built quality
  • Good screens
  • Pure Android
  • Optional pen
Negative
  • Weak M10 battery life
  • Probably just one big update
  • Weak CPUs
