Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+: What You Need to Know
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ is a tablet that aims to provide a high-value experience with its sleek and elegant design. It has a metal body with four color options: silver, lavender, mint, or gray.
If you’re familiar with its smaller sibling, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, the Plus model has a much larger display that clocks in at 12.4 inches. Since it’s larger, the resolution has also bumped up to 1600 x 2560 pixels and still supports a refresh rate of 90Hz for smooth scrolling and gaming.
As a midrange tablet, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ is powered by the Exynos 1380, which is similar to its non-Plus sibling. It’s a 5nm chip comprising four ARM Cortex-A78 clocked at 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.0GHz. It also has a Mali-G68 GPU for graphics-intensive games and apps.
Memory and storage configurations come in either 8GB + 128GB or 12GB + 256GB. Both of these are sufficient for multitasking and storing media files and apps. If ever you need more storage, the Tab S9 FE+ has a dedicated microSD slot that accommodates up to 1TB.
A difference with the non-Plus Tab S9 FE is this one has a dual camera system on the back consisting of an 8MP wide and 8MP ultrawide lens. The front camera is a 12MP ultrawide lens for your video conferencing needs.
If there’s a flagship feature that the Tab S9 FE+ inherits from its more high-end siblings, it’s S Pen support. In the case of the S9 FE+, the pen comes in the box, so you don’t have to spend more to take advantage of the feature.
It comes with a DeX Mode, where you rearrange the home screen like a desktop, but it doesn’t come with display output, so you can’t use an external monitor with the tablet.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ starts at $599 for its 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage configuration. If you want more RAM and storage, you can get one with 12GB + 256GB for $699. All the Tab S9 FE+ models come with Wi-Fi and 5G.
The S Pen is also available in the box and won’t cost extra. However, the Book Cover Keyboard is an additional $159.
Alternatives
An excellent alternative with a more flagship vibe is the Samsung Galaxy S8+. It’s at a similar price point to the Tab S9 FE+, but it’s got a year under its belt. However, you get some premium elements like the build quality, display, and hardware. It’s also a Samsung, so it should incorporate if you’re already embedded in the ecosystem.
Another alternative that you can go for is the Apple iPad 10th generation. However, it runs on a different OS and platform. Accessories will cost you, though, as the Apple Pencil is not available out of the box.
