Teclast M18: The Basics
From the outside, the Teclast M18 seems to be a well-built device, mainly because of its thin profile, and the fact that it’s back is made out of metal almost entirely. Most of the front is taken up by its large 10.8-inch display, which comes with a fantastic resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels in the 16:10 aspect ratio. This screen should be great if you plan on watching a lot of shows and movies. The included pair of bottom-firing stereo speakers should make your experience even better.
Performance shouldn’t be an issue since the company has used a beefy 10-core MediaTek Helio processor paired with a Mali T880MP4 GPU. You’re also getting 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which you can expand using a microSD card. However, you may not like the fact that the tablet comes running Android 8.0, which is a much older version and may even not be updated by Teclast. You have the option to pop in a 4G LTE SIM card to have cellular connectivity even when you’re away from your home or work.

Speaking of its connectivity features, there’s a headphone jack, USB Type-C port for charging, along with a docking port to connect keyboards, which the company sells separately. Other than that, you get the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options. As for its photography capabilities, the M18 comes with a 13MP sensor on the back and an 8MP one on the front. To keep everything running, Teclast has included an 8000mAh battery.

Pricing & Availability
As usual, Teclast has made its latest tablet, the M18, available for worldwide customers through stores like AliExpress. You can get it delivered almost anywhere in the world for a price of $190, including the shipping cost to the US. However, this price doesn’t cover the keyboard accessory, which you can purchase separately if you plan on using the table for your work as well.
Teclast M18 Alternatives
The best tablet you can buy in this price range has to be the Amazon Fire HD 10 (review). It launched quite a while back but is still worth your time and money, especially because of what all it has to offer at its price. Next up on our list would be the Lenovo Tab M10 HD (review) that we reviewed quite recently; it should serve you well for basic entertainment or handing the tablet to your kids. You can also pick the Full HD model of the same Lenovo tablet if you’d like to have those extra.
A few months back, Samsung came out with its excellent Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (review), which could be your go-to choice for an entertainment tablet, thanks to its large screen and quad speakers. On the other side of the fence, the recently announced iPad 8 (review) could be a fantastic deal, considering the top-notch performance this budget Apple tablet has to offer. And for those of you comfortable spending a little more, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (review) should be a great buy, given you need that stylus.
