Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4: The Overview
Xiaomi’s Pad 6S Pro has flagship-tier specs, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU powering a 12.4-inch, 3048 x 2032 IPS LCD running at 144Hz. Xiaomi claims that the 144Hz display has seven possible refresh rates that it will automatically adjust to depending on the content. The lowest possible refresh rate is 30Hz, with 48, 50, 60, 90, and 120Hz refresh rates also possible when the screen isn’t running at its native 144Hz.
Xiaomi offers several RAM and storage combos to go along with the top-of-the-line CPU. The base model has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the middle two variants have 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The highest-end version of the Pad 6S Pro has 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage. A 10000mAh battery supplies the juice to power all this hardware.
As with the older models in the Pad 6 range, Xiaomi opted for an Apple-inspired look for the Pad 6S Pro. And, like Apple’s newest devices, the Pad 6S Pro has a minimalistic port selection. It has a USB Type-C 3.2 port capable of 120W fast charging, but lacks a headphone jack or microSD slot.
The Pad 6S Pro comes with Xiaomi’s new OS, HyperOS 1.0, based on Android 14. Xiaomi has not outlined how long it plans to roll out OS and security updates for the Pad 6S Pro.
Xiaomi’s promotional material indicates it will sell a touchpad-equipped keyboard for the Xiaomi 6S Pro, along with an all-new Focus Pen stylus.

Pricing and Availability
As of March 2024, Xiaomi’s Pad 6S Pro 12.4 is not yet widely available since it only launched at the end of February. However, you can purchase it from selected specialist retailers with prices starting at around $600 for the base 8GB/256GB version.
Also, Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro’s global official site only lists a maximum of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. However, if you get the China-only version of the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro, you can get 16GB and 1TB of storage. Xiaomi often releases a Chinese version and a global one that sometimes are a bit different. That Chinese version does not come with the Google Play Store, might not be able to play Netflix in HD quality, and often the only languages you can choose between are English and Chinese.
Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 Alternatives
The closest competitor to the Pad 6S Pro is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9+. The Samsung is much pricier at around $1000 but has the advantage of an OLED display and expandable storage. However, both have the same Qualcomm processor and should perform similarly for daily tasks and gaming. If OLED is a priority then you’ll want to pay the extra for the Samsung. However, the Xiaomi 6S Pro is an option if you’re OK with an IPS screen.
