Huawei unveils its flagship tablet with liquid cooling and flexible OLED display.
At a launch event in China today, Huawei introduced a range of new products. Among these new products is the high-end MatePad Pro 13.2″ tablet. In this announcement, the company revealed all the specifications, pricing, and other important details of the product.
The MatePad Pro 13.2″ boasts a tall, flexible OLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels, a wide P3 color gamut, and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. The screen also has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, a 3:2 aspect ratio, a 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification. According to Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Consumer Chief, this tablet is the world’s first to feature a flexible OLED panel.
The tablet has an edge-to-edge screen design on the front, with a circular camera module on the back. What’s impressive is that it has the highest screen-to-body ratio in the industry (94 percent). The front has minimal bezels on the sides, a notch at the top, and a slim profile. The MatePad Pro 13.2″ weighs only 580 grams and measures 5.5mm in thickness. Huawei claims that it is the world’s thinnest and lightest tablet for its size.
Geared with VC Liquid Cooling
Underneath its sleek exterior, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 boasts the Kirin 9000s chipset, which is also found in the brand’s flagship Mate 60 series of smartphones. The tablet is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, making it a powerhouse. The company has also paid attention to the device’s cooling system, which comprises 52000m㎡ of graphite for heat dissipation and VC liquid cooling. The device is powered by a huge 10,100mAh battery pack that supports 88W fast charging, allowing it to reach 85% charge in just 40 minutes, with a full charge taking approximately 65 minutes.
The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 comes with a powerful audio setup, equipped with 6 dual-channel speakers that include dual high-frequency and 4 low-frequency speakers. It supports spatial audio and also features Huawei Sound certification. The front of the device has a 16-megapixel sensor, while the rear features a dual-camera setup with a 13-megapixel and an 8-megapixel camera. Additionally, the device has Bluetooth 5.2, AAC, and LDAC codecs for wireless audio streaming.
The MatePad Pro 13.2 runs on the latest HarmonyOS 4 operating system and comes with the third-generation M-Pen stylus. This pen utilizes StarLight technology, providing over 10,000 levels of pressure, and it has a low latency of up to 0ms. According to official notes, the M-Pen stylus is faster and offers an improved writing and drawing experience compared to its predecessor. Huawei claims that the stylus is 20% more accurate than the 2nd generation Apple Pen. Also, the tablet can be paired with a large global touchpad keyboard.
