One UI 6 update for Galaxy tablets

Google shifted its focus towards Android 14 in 2023 and released the first Android 14 Developer Preview in February. Unfortunately, the preview was not available for Samsung devices. Fortunately, Samsung launched its own One UI beta program and released the first One UI 6.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S23 series on August 11. And now, the tech giant has released a list of eligible Galaxy tablets and smartphones that will get the Android 14-based One UI 6 update.

Samsung managed to roll out Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update to eligible Galaxy devices in late 2021. The tech giant has also simplified its software update policies to help users understand which devices will receive the Android 14 One UI 6.0 update.

The company has expanded the list of devices that qualify for up to four Android OS upgrades, including models that are three years old. If you are curious whether your device is eligible for the One UI 6.0 update, please refer to the list provided below.

Samsung has recently announced the release of the One UI 6.0 update, which comes with the slogan “Enabling your Galaxy, your way.” During SDC23, the company revealed several new features that come with the update. These include a redesigned Quick Panel, a new font style developed exclusively for One UI called One UI Sans, which enhances readability, and new AI-powered photo editing tools.

Samsung has added a new feature to its One UI 6.0 update, called Samsung Studio. This feature allows users to edit videos with multiple layers, making it easy to add text, stickers, and music exactly where they want in the video’s timeline. With Samsung Studio, One UI 6.0 users can create complex, multi-layered video edits with ease.

  • New emoji design.

  • Customizable Bixby text call greetings and the option to switch to Bixby text call at any time, even during a call.
  • More accessibility features, including new magnification options and custom cursor thickness options.

Samsung has not announced a specific release date for the One UI 6.0 update yet. However, it is expected that the Galaxy S23 smartphone series will be the first to receive the update once the beta program ends. The update is slated to be available by the end of this year, and we will keep you updated on any further developments.

The One UI 6.0 update will be available for many Galaxy phones and tablets, including most foldable Galaxy models, and Galaxy Tab S8 and newer tablet lineups. Nevertheless, the update will not be released simultaneously for all the devices but will gradually expand over a few weeks or months.
