Roblox on Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+

Roblox is among the most popular games, offering endless hours of fun creating and playing user-made games. And if you (or your child) want to take that fun on the go, it’s time to start looking into buying the best tablet for Roblox.

Roblox has very modest minimum system requirements, meaning that most modern tablets can run it without problems. However, a few tablets stand out from the rest. Some offer amazing value, while others provide great performance and excellent longevity. Let’s check them out.

The Best Tablets for Roblox: An Overview

  • Best tablet for Roblox overall: Apple iPad 10 (on Amazon*). Easily the best tablet for under $500, the Apple iPad 10’s top-class processor, great user experience, and long-term OS support make it the perfect choice for a high-end Roblox tablet.
  • Best Android tablet for Roblox: Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE (on Amazon*). Samsung’s cut-down Tab S9 is still a great tablet with solid gaming performance (especially for Roblox) and a great display. The included S Pen and plenty of onboard storage make it a compelling alternative to the Apple iPad.
  • Best mid-range tablet for Roblox: Apple iPad 9 (on Amazon*). It’s a bit dated, but still has it where it counts. It still has a top-tier processor and a solid display, paired with Apple’s impressive software support and a great mid-range price.
  • Best mid-range Android tablet for Roblox: Lenovo Tab P11 Pro G2 (on Amazon*). Lenovo’s tablet has solid hardware and decent gaming prowess but stands out primarily for its amazing OLED display.
  • Best value tablet for Roblox: Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (on Amazon*). Samsung’s new budget tablet is a great deal, with solid overall performance, good build quality, and a 90-Hz screen.
  • Best cheap tablet for Roblox: Amazon Fire HD 10 2023 (on Amazon*). Amazon’s new 10-inch tablet provides a playable Roblox experience at a good price, especially if you can get it on sale.

Best Tablet for Roblox: All Details

Apple iPad 10: Best Tablet for Roblox overall

Apple’s 10th-generation iPad is an excellent tablet, with its still-amazing performance and premium user experience. Sure, there are higher-end Apple tablets, but the iPad 10 is an ideal middle ground if you’re buying for your children or younger family members to play Roblox.

Great Mid-Range Tablet
Apple iPad 10
$449.00 $349.99

The Apple iPad 10 is faster than all Android tablets. Especially compared to its predecessor, it offers a better and more modern design, a bit lager and bright 10.9-inch display, as well as a new and good keyboard cover. Overall, it's a great tablet but it does have a bunch of downsides. The screen is not laminated and I noticed a jelly effect. You can get it with the first-generation Apple Pencil. However, for that one to work you have to buy an extra adapter which is ridiculous. And, sadly, the price has increased.

The iPad 10’s 10.9-inch, 2360 x 1640 IPS creates a great gaming experience. It offers enough screen size and sharpness to be immersive without being unwieldy. It’s a great display, too, with the only issue being a non-laminated construction that leaves an air gap between the display and the glass.

A great display isn’t worth much if the tablet can’t run Roblox smoothly, but that’s not a problem on the iPad 10. Its A14 Bionic processor is still one of the best tablet CPUs despite being a few years old by now. Games like PUBG Mobile and Apex Legends run perfectly at the highest settings, so the iPad 10 will easily handle Roblox, whether creating a Roblox game or playing someone else’s creation.

The iPad 10’s battery life at maximum brightness is a bit low, admittedly, scoring only 5.5 hours in our test. But that’s because it’s an extra-bright screen (500 nits vs. the 400 nits on many other tablets). Keep the brightness down, and it should be fine enough for Roblox sessions.

The A14 Bionic has a ton of extra processing and graphics power on tap, making the iPad 10 a great choice if you want a tablet that’ll grow with a child and handle their changing needs and interests. There are some issues, such as an awkward USB-C to Lightning adapter situation for the original Apple Pencil, but they’re not insurmountable.

Apple also supports its tablets for a long time, so you won’t have to worry about spending $450 or more on a tablet that’ll be outdated in a few years.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE: Best Android tablet for Roblox

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 FE may be a cut-down version of the company’s flagship Tab S9 series, but it’s still a high-quality tablet with more than enough under the hood to ensure a great experience when playing Roblox.

Best Mid-Range With Pen
Samsug Galaxy Tab S9 FE
$449.99 $349.99

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE is currently the best mid-range tablet with a pen. We get a pretty good overall package here with a high-resolution 10.9-inch 90Hz IPS display, a great design, latest software with long updates, and the S Pen, which is included. The S9 FE has many premium features such as a fingerprint reader, good speakers, and a water and dust-resistant body. It would be even better if the processor was more powerful. So, it's not a perfect gaming tablet.

Pros:
  • Premium design
  • IP 68 certification
  • Pretty 90Hz display
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Up-to-date software
  • Good speakers
  • S Pen is included
  • Good keyboard cover
Cons:
  • Performance just average

Its eight-core Exynos 1380 processor is more than enough to ensure smooth Roblox performance. Sure, it’s not the highest-end processor you can find in a tablet, but Roblox isn’t a very demanding game. So, the Tab S9 FE shouldn’t have any issues with lag or slow loading times when your child sits down to play Roblox.

Like the iPad 10, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE has a 10.9-inch display, albeit at a slightly lower resolution of 2304 x 1440. It’s not quite as sharp as the Apple, but it’ll satisfy all but the pickiest users. You also get laminated construction here, with no annoying air gaps.

One area where the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE has an advantage over its closest Apple rival is in storage space. You can choose from 128GB or 256GB variants (with 6GB and 8GB of RAM, respectively), with the option of adding even more storage via the microSD card slot.

Battery life is solid, too. The Samsung managed around 7.5 hours in our testing, which involved running a YouTube video on loop at maximum brightness and frame rate. As long as you keep the battery topped up, you likely won’t face many situations when the tablet dies during a Roblox session.

Regarding longevity, Samsung plans to provide four OS updates and five years of security patches for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, so you can rest assured that the tablet will be on the latest, most stable software for a while.

Apple iPad 9: Best Mid-Range Tablet for Roblox

Apple’s iPad 9 is a genuine bargain for anyone seeking excellent performance at a mid-tier price. Sure, the design is outdated, but that’s a slight downside compared to all the other advantages you get from buying an older product.

Apple iPad 9
$329.00 $249.00

The value of the Apple iPad 9 is fantastic. Because of its Apple A13 processor it is faster than every premium tablet running Android right now. We also get a great built quality, a solid screen, up-to-date software, Apple Pencil support, and the TouchID fingerprint scanner. Sadly, the design looks a bit outdated and the display continues to be not laminated.

The iPad 9 starts at around $330; for that, you get 64GB of storage, 3GB of RAM, and an Apple A13 Bionic processor. The storage and RAM situation isn’t great, but it’s still passable. The A13 Bionic is the highlight, though: it has enough power to run demanding mobile games like Apex Legends at maximum settings, so Roblox will be a piece of cake.

Unlike the newer iPad 10, the iPad 9 has a smaller 10.2-inch IPS screen that runs at 2160 x 1620. The smaller size may seem like a downside, but it does make for a slightly narrower tablet that a younger user may find easier to hold when gaming. It’s still a high-quality display with excellent viewing angles and sharpness, although the non-laminated construction is still a minor disappointment.

Like other Apple tablets, the extra-bright display means shorter battery life in our testing. We measured 6 hours of uptime playing a YouTube video on repeat at maximum brightness. Keep the brightness in check (and a charger close at hand), though, and battery life woes shouldn’t interrupt any Roblox games.

As with all Apple products, you get great long-term support with the iPad 9. It launched with iPadOS 15 but now runs the latest iPadOS 17.2 at the time of writing. We expect several more OS updates, too, ensuring you’ll get much more life out of the iPad 9 than many comparably-priced Android tablets.

Lenovo Tab P11 Pro G2: Best Mid-Range Android Tablet for Roblox

Lenovo’s Tab P11 Pro G2 is a solid mid-range tablet with one standout feature: its display. Unlike all the other tablets on our list, Lenovo squeezed a genuine OLED screen into the Tab P11 Pro G2, making for a fantastic deal (especially if OLED is a priority).

Great OLED Tablet
Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2

The Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 gets fantastic results in my review. It offers a great 10.2-inch OLED screen, powerful hardware, lots of storage, as well as a solid pen and good keyboard cover. I also like its long battery life, its loud speakers, and the productivity mode with external screen support. However, while it's supposed to get two major updates, it probably won't be updated as long as the flagships from Samsung and Apple.

Buy on Amazon Our Review

The Tab P11 Pro G2’s 11.2-inch, 2560 x 1536 OLED is excellent, with incredible black levels, great contrast, and a 600-nit maximum maximum brightness. It also has a 120-Hz refresh rate, although that isn’t relevant for Roblox as it has a 60 FPS limit. Still, it’s a nice feature and not very common at this price range.

Lenovo opted for an eight-core MediaTek Kompanio 1300T, which, while not high-end, is a reasonably capable gaming processor. We found that games such as Asphalt 9 and Apex Legends ran smoothly and were enjoyable on the Tab P11 Pro G2; with that in mind, Roblox should be excellent on Tab P11 Pro G2.

We measured 10.5 hours of battery life, which is impressive considering the extra-bright display. Roblox will likely drain your battery faster, but the Lenovo should have a longevity advantage over other tablets with 5 to 7-hour uptimes.

If you want a tablet that’ll make Roblox pop, then the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro G2 is what you need. It’d be a good tablet without the OLED, but that display makes it an even easier recommendation.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+: Best Value Tablet for Roblox

Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab A9+ offers fantastic bang for the buck, with decent mid-range performance, a high-refresh-rate display, and an overall user experience that belies its budget-friendly pricing.

Great Budget Pick
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+
$219.99 $169.99

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is a good entry-level tablet whose processor performance has improved significantly compared to its predecessor. We also get a good 90Hz display, comparatively large storage options and up-to-date software. Samsung's long software updates are particularly great. It is a pity that the S Pen is not supported and the build quality could be better.

Pros:
  • Good 90Hz display
  • Improved hardware
  • Large storage options
  • Long software updates
  • Samsung DeX
Cons:
  • Weak build quality
  • No S Pen
  • Short battery life

Many sub-$300 tablets are stuck with 60 Hz displays, but the Galaxy Tab A9+ is one of the few exceptions. Samsung has opted for an 11-inch, 1920 x 1200 IPS screen that runs at 90 Hz. Roblox has a 60 FPS cap, but the higher refresh rate is still a welcome feature that makes daily use feel a lot smoother.

Given the price, you can’t expect flagship-level gaming performance from the Galaxy Tab A9+’s Snapdragon 695 processor. However, it’s still decent enough, especially since it runs at the slightly less intensive Full HD resolution. Roblox runs fine on High settings on the Tab A9+, with heavier games such as Asphalt 9 also running well (albeit with some stutter).

We haven’t tested the Galaxy Tab A9+’s battery life, but its 7040mAh is definitely on the smaller side. For context, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro G2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE have roughly 8000mAh batteries. The Tab A9+ also charges quite slowly, topping out at 15 watts. So that’s something to remember if you want to take it on holiday for your kids to play Roblox with.

Beyond the potential battery and charging issues, though, there’s nothing much to complain about with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+. It’s not perfect, sure, but it’s great value for casual use and light gaming.

Amazon Fire HD 10 2023: Best Budget Tablet for Roblox

Amazon’s Fire HD 10 2023 is a decent budget tablet with an ace up its sleeve: the pricing. It’s a decent deal at its roughly $140 MSRP, but you can get one for less than $100 during Amazon sales. That turns a good budget tablet into a great deal, provided you’re willing to wait.

Amazon Fire HD 10 2023
$139.99 $94.99

The Amazon Fire HD 10 2023 Edition features pretty good 10-inch fullHD display, a rugged build, and active pen support. It's a great tablet if you're looking for something simple, that is not expensive, but good enough for watching movies, surfing the web, and using Amazon's services. Sadly, you've got to install the Google Play Store yourself.

As the name suggests, the Fire HD 10 2023 has a 10.1-inch 1900 x 1200 display powered by a MediaTek MT8186 processor. It’s far from a high-performance setup, but it does the job well enough. Some of Roblox’s in-game elements will take some time to load, but the game is still broadly playable. Not bad for a tablet you can get for around $80 on sale.

Other specs aren’t exciting, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage. It’s definitely a lower-end device, but that’s reflected in the pricing. You can expand the storage with a microSD card, at least.

One advantage of having slower hardware and a small screen is improved battery life: the Fire HD 10 2023 lasted 10 hours in our tests, which is better than many high-end tablets. It’s nice to get something in return for putting up with the lower specs and reduced gaming performance.

Like Amazon’s older Kindle Fire tablets, the Fire HD 10 2023 runs the company’s in-house Fire OS. This doesn’t have the Google Play Store, but that’s not a big issue as Roblox is available on Amazon’s App Store. So, you can install the game as you would on any Android or iOS tablet.

If you can’t stretch to the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+, Amazon’s Fire HD 10 2023 is likely your best bet to let your child play Roblox without breaking the bank.
