Lenovo Legion Go: Device Information

The Lenovo Legion Go is different from your typical tablet. At its core, it’s a handheld gaming device that can also function as a mini laptop when needed. It has a metal body with a black and red color scheme.

The device sports an 8.8-inch IPS LCD screen with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. Since it’s a gaming device, it has a 144Hz refresh rate for high-framerate games like first-person shooters. It will also handle creative tasks with its 97% DCI-P3 color gamut.

Even though it’s a gaming device, you can use it like a tablet since the display supports touch input. Still, it comes with detachable controllers that can be used in different modes, depending on the game you’re playing.

One mode is attaching the controllers to the side like a Nintendo Switch. You can also get a grip accessory so it feels like you’re holding a PlayStation or Xbox controller. Lastly, there’s FPS mode, where you turn one of the controllers into a mouse.

Since it’s meant for PC gaming, the Lenovo Legion Go is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor. It has 8 cores, 16 threads, and clock speeds up to 5.1 GHz. It relies on an AMD RDNA 3 with up to 12 cores for graphics, allowing it to handle most games at high settings.

The device also is equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage. Unlike typical tablets, it runs on Windows 11, allowing you to open Steam to play your favorite games.

In the UK, there’s only one model available, and that’s the 512GB storage one. It starts at £700.

Lenovo Legion Go Alternatives

The Lenovo Legion Go is a device that offers a new way to enjoy gaming and productivity. However, it’s not the only device that can do that; there are some alternatives.

A smaller handheld gaming option you can choose is the Steam Deck. It comes with a 7-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. It runs on hardware that is a generation older, so it has slightly less power than the Legion Go. Although, it’s also more affordable, starting at $399.

Another handheld gaming device option is the ASUS ROG Ally. An advantage of the Ally is it does give you a bit more flexibility with the hardware as it offers a model with the AMD Ryzen Z1 non-Extreme chip, which starts at $599.

If you’re looking for a more traditional tablet option that can handle gaming and productivity, the Apple iPad Pro 11-inch is your best choice. Powered by an M2 chip, it will handle the most demanding games and apps on the App Store.
