Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series Starts Receiving One UI 5.1 Update, List of Eligible Tablets for Android 14 (One UI 6.0)
Check your Galaxy Tab S8 for the latest One UI 5.1 update.
Samsung recently announced that it will soon launch the latest One UI 5.1.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 4. The company has already released the One UI 5.1.1 update to European countries, specifically to the Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra, along with the latest security patch.
The Galaxy Tab S8 now offers new multitasking features with firmware version X706BXXU5BWH6 while the Galaxy Tab S8+ and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are now updated with firmware versions X806BXXU5BWH6 and X906BXXU5BWH6, respectively. As per the report by SamMobile, the update is currently being rolled out across Europe and is expected to be available in other regions and countries in the next few days. The Galaxy Tab S8 series tablet owners in Europe can now easily update their tablets to the latest One UI 5.1.1 version by going to Settings > Software > Download and Install.
With the latest update, the tablets are now equipped with the July 2023 security patch. Additionally, Samsung has shared that the One UI 5.1.1 update will also be rolled out to Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and other Galaxy Tab series devices in the coming weeks.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are the best Android tablets you can buy right now. We get fantastic and large Super AMOLED screens, a good LCD, and the fantastic S Pen stylus is included and has tons of software support. The tablets are super fast, have premium-feeling metal bodies, great speakers, and features like fingerprint scanners. I also like that Samsung offers up-to-date software with long software updates to come.
One UI 5.1.1 has several useful features, such as the ability to drag and drop files with two hands, the option to hide pop-up windows on one side, and quick switching between pop-up view and multi-window mode for compatible apps.
The taskbar has also been improved to display up to four recently used apps on the right side. Additionally, Quick Share allows users to share files with those outside their Wi-Fi network, while Private Share enables setting an expiration time for each file. The Photo Editor now uses dials for adjustments instead of sliders, making it easier to use. Finally, Samsung has added the ability to change Modes from the lock screen and more fonts for the clock widget on the lock screen.
Samsung Tablets Eligible for Android 14 One UI 6.0 Update
Samsung launched its own One UI beta program, with the first One UI 6.0 beta firmware being made available to the Galaxy S23 series on August 11th. Samsung has simplified its software update policies, making it easier to identify which devices will receive the Android 14 One UI 6.0 update.
As a result, many devices are now eligible for up to 4 Android OS upgrades. This means that even devices that are up to three years old will receive the update. To see if your Galaxy Tab is on the list, please refer to the list below.
