Rebranded Tab Extreme Launched as Lenovo Legion Y900 in China
The rebranded Tab Extreme comes with a high-end display and huge battery.
Following up with the rumours, Lenovo has finally unveiled the Legion Y900, a highly anticipated flagship tablet, at their Spring Rescuer event. The tablet boasts a vast array of upgrades and improvements over its predecessor – the Y700. It is a rebranded version of the Tab Extreme.
Lenovo is now making it unmistakable that the tablet belongs to its gaming lineup in China by renaming it as Legion Y900. In addition, there are other Legion-branded products, such as PC’s and smartphones specifically designed for gamers. Though you don’t need high spec components to play most Android games, having top notch specs would be advantageous if using a tablet for emulation or activities requiring more power from your device.
Legion Y900 Pricing and Availability
At CES in January, Lenovo unveiled its high-end tablet: the Tab Extreme. It is expected to go on sale across the USA later this year for around $1200. In China, Lenovo has priced the Legion Y900 at 5,999 CNY (around $870). Even better, pre-ordering could bring that price down even further to an estimated 4,999 CNY ($725).
Specifications
The biggest enhancement of the Legion Y900 is its ultra-wide 14.5-inch display with 3K resolution. By partnering with Goodix Technology, Lenovo has an improved light sensor for more accurate color temperature and surrounding luminosity functions plus PWM dimming up to 1920Hz, peak brightness of 500 nits, contrast ratio of 1 million:1; 10 bit colour depth support and Dolby Vision compatibility.
The Legion Y900 tablet is equipped with a Dimensity 9000 processor, 12GB LPDDR5X memory and an expansive 256GB extendable UFS 3.1 storage. Additionally, it packs in a generous 12,300mAh battery that’s supported by 68W fast charging capability. Boasting ZUI 15, the Y900 tablet provides a convenient “super file” feature that allows users to instantly access and share files between devices easily.
Paired with its high-end display, the Y900 packs an impressive audio experience featuring 4 JBL tweeters and 4 HJBL ultra-linear woofers. Together these 8 powerful speakers provide Dolby Atmos support to create a truly immersive soundscape.
The Xiaoxin Stylus 2nd generation, in partnership with Goodix’s OLED touch solution, is touted by Lenovo for fluid writing experience. It has 4096-level ultra-high pressure sensitivity and a high response rate. Not only has Lenovo improved the hardware, but also made software enhancements to benefit users even more.
