Performance and Benchmarks

Under the hood, the Amazon Fire Max 11 relies on a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT8188J processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM. While it may not match the performance levels of its competitors, it delivers smooth performance for everyday tasks. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite utilizes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, which provides a more powerful octa-core CPU and Adreno 618 GPU for enhanced graphics capabilities. The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2, powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 processor and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, offers an impressive combination of processing power and graphics performance, making it ideal for multitasking and demanding applications.

Taking a deeper dive into the performance aspect, it’s worth considering the benchmark scores of the Amazon Fire Max 11, Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 and the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2. Benchmark scores provide a standardized measurement of a device’s performance across different tasks and can help in comparing the processing power of the tablets.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 follows closely behind with a single-core CPU score of 543 and a multi-core CPU score of 1765. If you prioritize strong performance, the Amazon Fire Max 11 emerges as the top performer, closely followed by the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 offers a solid performance but lags slightly behind the others.

Although Amazon Fire Max 11 seems to emerge as a winner in terms of single-core and multi-core performance, it lags behind  Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 in the computing section. Check the benchmark snapshot below.

Ultimately, when considering the performance aspect, users may want to look beyond benchmark scores and consider other factors such as software optimization, available RAM, and overall user experience to make an informed decision based on their specific requirements.

Storage and Accessories

In terms of storage, the Amazon Fire Max 11 offers 64GB to 128GB of built-in storage, expandable up to a massive 1TB via a microSD card. Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite provides 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB. The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 comes in two variants: 64GB with 4GB RAM and 128GB with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. With its expandable storage options, the Amazon Fire Max 11 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite offer more flexibility for users who require ample storage space.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 S Pen

All three tablets have a stylus and keyboard support. The Amazon Fire Max 11 has the most affordable accessory bundle. However, the Galaxy S6 Lite has a better stylus in the form of the S-Pen, which Samsung includes for free. On the other hand, you can purchase a keyboard pack for the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2, but it usually needs to be bought separately. The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 is compatible with the Lenovo Precision Pen 2, which is an active pen. However, the pen needs to be bought separately. It’s a well-built stylus with two buttons and is pressure-sensitive. Additionally, it charges through USB C, just like the tablet.

We have tested several Lenovo tablets with the Precision Pen 2, including the P11 Gen 2, and found that while the pen works fine, it is not as precise as the Samsung S Pen or Apple Pencil. Handwriting lacks neatness, and detailed drawing is not possible with this pen. Even an artist, whom we asked to try it out, found it unsuitable for serious work.

Fantastic S Pen Value
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 Edition

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 Edition is a good entry-level tablet with the S Pen stylus, that's running with Android 13, and should get updated to Android 14. We get a solid screen, a good-enough performance, and a premium-feeling design. Sadly, the price hasn't changed compared to its predecessor.

Pros:
  • Premium design
  • Solid screen
  • Fantastic S Pen
  • Great software features
  • Long updates (probably until Android 14)
  • Samsung DeX
Cons:
  • A bit old now
  • Performance okay only
  • No great keyboard cover

If you value the pen feature, we recommend choosing the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 with S Pen. The improved S Pen and software like Samsung Notes make it a better choice.

Battery

Battery life is another important aspect to consider, especially for users who prioritize long-lasting usage. The Amazon Fire Max 11 comes with a 10,000mAh battery that boasts an impressive 14 hours of mixed-use battery life, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features a slightly smaller 7040mAh battery, providing sufficient power for daily tasks. The Lenovo P11 Gen 2 settles for an ample 7700mAh battery, offering an estimated online video playback time of up to 10 hours. Therefore, if extended battery life is a priority, the Amazon Fire Max 11 emerges as the winner with its higher battery capacity.

Considering the battery life of the tablets, additional data shows that the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 with a 120Hz refresh rate offers approximately 6 hours of usage. This suggests that the higher refresh rate consumes more power, resulting in a slightly reduced battery life compared to the standard configuration of the tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 battery

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 offers battery life of around 7.5 hours. Users should consider their specific needs and preferences, such as the desired display smoothness and battery longevity, when making a decision based on battery performance.

We are currently in the process of conducting a comprehensive test on the Amazon Fire Max 11. Once we have completed our battery test, we will update this comparison with the results. Based solely on the larger battery capacity, we anticipate that the Amazon Fire Max 11 will perform better.

Cameras and Connectivity

When it comes to capturing memories, the Amazon Fire Max 11, Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, and Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 provide different camera setups. The Amazon Fire Max 11 offers 8MP front and rear cameras, capable of recording 1080p videos. Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera for video calls and selfies.

Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 build quality

The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 sports a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP fixed-focus front camera. While none of these tablets can match the camera capabilities of dedicated smartphones, the Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2’s higher resolution rear camera offers a slight advantage for capturing higher-quality photos.

The Amazon Fire Max 11 supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6, which provides faster and more reliable wireless internet connectivity. It also includes Bluetooth 5.3 for connecting to various compatible devices such as headphones and speakers. The tablet features a USB-C (2.0) port for charging and audio, allowing for convenient connectivity and data transfer. Additionally, the Fire Max 11 supports Pogo Pin for case attachment, which can be useful for accessories like a keyboard case or a docking station.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 offers multiple connectivity options. It includes 4G LTE capability, enabling users to access high-speed mobile data when on the go. In terms of wireless connectivity, the tablet supports Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth 5.0. These features allow for fast and reliable connections to Wi-Fi networks and enable seamless pairing with compatible devices. The tablet also includes a USB 2.0 Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

The Lenovo P11 G2 provides Wi-Fi 6E (802.11 ax) connectivity, which offers faster speeds and improved stability, especially in crowded Wi-Fi environments. Bluetooth 5.2 is also supported, enabling easy pairing with a wide range of devices. The tablet includes a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. This versatile port ensures compatibility with various USB Type-C accessories and peripherals.

It’s important to consider the connectivity options that best suit your needs. If you require faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connectivity, tablets like the Amazon Fire Max 11 and the Lenovo P11 G2, with their support for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, respectively, may be suitable choices. On the other hand, if you prefer the flexibility of 4G LTE connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 offers the option to stay connected even when away from Wi-Fi networks.

Ultimately, the choice of tablet will depend on your specific requirements for connectivity and how you intend to use the device in various settings.

Conclusion

In conclusion, all three tablets possess their own strengths and weaknesses. The Amazon Fire Max 11 offers a solid display and reasonable performance, making it suitable for casual users. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite provides a balanced combination of features, including a vibrant display and reliable performance. The Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2 fights its competitors with its impressive display, powerful performance, and additional features like Wi-Fi 6E support. Depending on individual requirements and priorities, users can choose the tablet that aligns best with their needs.
