Huawei Launched World’s First Tablet With Two-way Satellite Communication
Huawei just revolutionised tablet communication. The MatePad Pro is also claimed to be the “thinnest 11-inch tablet”

Huawei is back with yet another Android tablet, the MatePad Pro 11 2024. For those who have been keeping up with Huawei, the MatePad series of tablets are the flagship level devices with great features and hardware. And this time, Huawei went a bit ahead than just going premium. The MatePad Pro 11 2024 isn’t your average tablet – it’s the first-ever to support two-way Beidou Satellite messaging, taking connectivity to a whole new level.
Picture this: high-orbit satellites, up to a whopping 36,000 kilometers away, communicating with your tablet without the need for antennas. Huawei has pulled off this feat by employing high-gain algorithms and cutting-edge communication protocols.
The MatePad Pro 11 2024 isn’t just breaking records in satellite tech; it’s also claiming the title of “the thinnest 11-inch tablet” according to Huawei. At just 5.9 mm thick and weighing in at a mere 449 grams.

Under the hood, the MatePad Pro 11 2024 comes powered by the Kirin 9000S processor. Despite a slightly lower frequency, it delivers impressive performance. In the single-threaded Geekbench test, the device scores 1244 points, and in the multi-threaded test, it achieves 3793 points. The tablet features an OLED screen that covers an impressive 92% of the front panel area, providing users with an immersive visual experience. Additionally, it supports 66W charging, ensuring quick charging of the device.
In the imaging department, the tablet features a 13MP primary camera coupled with an 8MP ultrawide lens. On the front, there’s a 16MP camera tucked into a punch-hole. On the software side of things, the MatePad Pro 11 (2024) runs HarmonyOS 4 out-of-the-box. A 8,300 mAh battery backs the device. Interestingly, the tablet also supports third-generation Huawei M-Pencil.
You can get the MatePad Pro 11 2024 in two variants – 12GB of RAM +256GB Storage and 12GB RAM+512GB of storage. The former costs $600, and the latter $670. That’s not an unreasonable pricing for a high-performance tablet with space-age communication features.
The tablet will be available in Green, Blue, Black, and White color variants. It is already up for pre-orders and the sales will kickstart on December 8 in China.
So, in a nutshell, Huawei’s MatePad Pro 11 2024 seems to be an innovative tablet packed with powerful specs. Plus, it is super thin and light, and priced right. Even though it’s only available in China for now, its features and specs will likely put it in the limelight globally.
