Teclast T60: The Overview

Teclast’s T60 is a sub-$300 tablet that targets the same market as Xiaomi’s Pad 8 in trying to offer a lot of screen real estate at the lowest price possible. In the T60’s case, Teclast opted for a 2000 x 1200 12.0-inch IPS panel paired with an entry-level CPU in the 8-core Unisoc T616. The Teclast T60 comes with 8GB of RAM (plus 8GB of virtual memory) and 256GB of storage, the latter expandable via a microSDXC slot. The battery is an 8000 mAh Li-Po unit.

The T60’s thin bezels and Widevine L1 certification make it suitable to be used as an entertainment tablet because you will be able to watch DRM-protected videos from Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Software-wise, the Teclast T60 ships with Android 13 (despite the company claiming Android 14 in its promotional material). Teclast hasn’t confirmed whether it’ll roll out Android 14 to the T60, nor has it clarified its plans for security updates.

The Teclast T60 is available on Aliexpress, Amazon, and Lazada (for Southeast Asians). Teclast lists the T60 at a $269 MSRP, but you can regularly find it for well below that on Amazon or Aliexpress. As of March 2024, for example, you can buy the T60 for less than $200 from Amazon US and Aliexpress.

Teclast T60 Alternatives

If you’re after an entry-level 12-inch tablet, the outgoing Honor Pad 8 is worth a look. It’s been superseded by the Pad 9, so you can often find Pad 8s at heavily discounted prices comparable to the Teclast T60. If you don’t mind a slightly smaller screen, tablets like the 11.5-inch Honor Pad X9 and 11-inch Amazon Fire Max 11 are also worth considering.
